I have my pcm 92 reverb on aux send 1 with a stereo return. For live sound, you can have your computer connected and route an aux send to your DAW, apply the effect in your software, and route the wet signal back into the mixer. That mxckie leaves channels 1 and 2 free into which I plug the outputs from my mackue preamp. You can record individual tracks in your DAW, and record the master mix outputs separately.

I can't say that the preamps are my favorites, but they are great for trimming line signals and do have 820l nice warm sound of their own The recordings through firewire are not as good as my seven-times-as-expensive Apogee Ensemble, but they are still plenty good, and when I'm inspired, capture is a mere click away.
